I wanted to thank everyone for submitting their pictures. We've got a good collection here and it's growing day by day.
One thing I wanted to point out is that right now when I add images, ...
So. I recently was playing on my Death Knight on the Azshara realm, Hateera, and me and a few friends went and cleared the Old Kingdom with a stranger. After we cleared the trash, said stranger went and said, "You guys are good. Can I join your static?" To which our tank replied, "What's a static?"
That's what spurred me to write this, so I hope y'all are patient with me. XD;;;
Now, there are some who know what a static group is and others who don't. To put it simple and short: A static group is basically a group of characters set aside for the sole purpose of playing them with each other.
Now, some advantages come with this style of play. One, all of your characters are probably going to be leveling at around the same rate. Two, everyone can know their group dynamic: Whether it's the Prot Paladin tanking or the Destro Warlock DPSing, you'll come to learn what your class is doing and how well they are at it.
But another part of it is the social benefit. You'll be leveling with these people for some time, so you'll know these are people you can trust. No ninja's, no whiners, just friends.
Now, generally, Statics are known mostly to run instances (Sometimes multiple times. Once did Underbog 3 times in a row.). This can also mean a well-geared player at times.
And of course let's not forget PVP. The fun of getting your 4 friends together and entering a premade could possibly make for a fun victory, or, sometimes, loss.
But what's also nice is the group dynamics. Why need talents that help keep you alive when you have a tank protecting you? In this situation, if you're DPSing, would you need stamina or attack power more? You'll find you can focus less on self-preservation at times and put more focus into your job, like getting the most out of your DPS or even having those good tanking or healing items, and you'll be able to focus on your job more.
I'm mostly bringing this up because it's really an interesting, not to mention fun, idea. I know i probably wouldn't have touched my Orc Death Knight anywhere near as much if I didn't have so many people to play with.
So, whether you want to tear things apart or just want the fun of playing with other people, Static groups are a fun and interesting way to do it. :)
And if anyone is interested in setting one up... Gimme a call. I've been looking for an excuse to level a druid, shammy, or priest. ;)
